I have used spray on glass frosting on my back windows. So it looks like the windows are steamed up. From behind it could almost pass as a service bus.
You could try window tinting, it is very expensive but can be effective.
The cheapest method would be a tin of gloss paint and a roller. If you stick a coat of primer on the glass then paint over it. It's not the best option but it does work.

As Jonathan said, painting-out the windows is not the best option but it does the job. At the moment I have painted inside (vehicle spray paint - cans) on both sides and outside on just one side - just to try it. The exterior silver paint is labelled as extreme weather resistant and I am very pleased with the results - when it gets a bit warmer I will do the other side. I thought about the window tint stuff but the cost put me off. Have a look at my website - you can see the results. As long as you don't drive through woods or narrow lanes where branches can scrape the sides, you should not have any problems and it doesn't take long to scrape it off if you change your mind.

if your going to paint the glass do it on the inside you will get a really good finish from the outside as the glass will give a good shine to the paint, you may need to give it two coats for best results. ive done this a few times on icecream vans before fitting shelves etc inside, never had any problems.
