Top row, left - right (1 - 3) 1: No, unless you are classed as a bus with over 8 seats 2: No, goods vehs (Private HGV ? - but not carrying goods) I would be willing to go to court for this one 3: No, applys only to towed c'vans (Jonathan can't do that ;D) Bottom row, left - right (4 - 7) 4: Yes, applys to all vehicles (where's the tape measure ) 5: Yes, as for 4 (better measure that too) 6: Yes, as for 4 / 5 (not horse drawn) 7: Yes: you would be off your head to ignore this one!! If I get any wrong do I have to do lines or detention ?? Who needs a quiz at this time of the morning ?? Regards, Jim

I would agree, the top row do not apply to a motorhome of any size or weight, the bottom row apply to all vehicles.
However I would personnally observe the top row as there will be some underlying reason for the sign being there. Sometimes it is just traffic management to keep large lorries or buses etc off certain roads. I would suggest that there are a few occasions when the road may not be suitable for the vehicle type and the sign has been placed as a warning.
Jim if you take George to Asda, don't come out the car exit! The reason the buses use the goods entrance is due to vehicles grounding at the bottom the car ramp at the Jewel. There are a few other examples of this type of situation where signs from the top row may be employed.

Yep - agree that the top 3 could give you an indication of possible trouble ahead but from past experience they are usually part of the management system rather than a possible hazard. I took George to Asda when we decided to do a quick shop before hitting the road on our last trip out. We often shop there so used the bus / goods entrance as I had the feeling George would bottom out on the normal entrance. I try to get George out for a run at least once a week so I am always on the lookout for different routes from east to west side of town without using the bypass. It's amazing how much you notice the signs when you become a bus / coach conversion owner, even when you drive round in your car. One of my most common routes is Leith - Crewe Toll - Q'ferry Road (keeps real close eye on all the roadside obstacles) - Drumbrae (down to 2nd to get over the top) - Broomhouse and finally Sighthill. My grandaughter is always chuffed when George turns up to collect her from school. Thinking of a run down to East Fortune tomorrow, should be fun once I turn of the old A1 and head for the Museum of Flight. Regards, Jim
