Hello all, Im new to this forum, and I am wondering if some of you can help me. I bought this coach a few week ago and only just managed to go and fetch it to come home. When it got home one of the panels was bearly hanging on. So I took the panel off but it pretty much fell off. And I noticed that the wooden beam was rotten. I took a few other panels off and the beam was rotten in the middle of the piece of wood all through the side. Even the same for the other side. I also noticed that the wood on the emergency door is totally rotten. So I will have to replace this before it goes in for its MOT. The wood that is currently on is Maple so I am wondering if the replacement wood needs to be Maple or if it can be any as I havent done this thing before. As I never needed to. More to come come on the restoration of this coach. At the moment its a nightmare but did manage 162 miles back from Wales.

hi .. in reply i believe you should stay with original materials. i work a lot with coaches and am nearing end of restoration of a 1979 steel body supreme . its going to be a long road for you if you do it properly . try going to some of the north of england coach breakers to see if you can get original wood taken out for you from a scrap one . at least it will be correct shape and dimensions. ps most wood at or below floor will be bad , sorry .... daren
