Ok, here's my problem at the moment.
My dear old 1961 coachahome has been standing for the last couple of years and the tyres have cracked badly - I mean you can see light through from the other side of the tyre, or so it seems!!
My local vosa test centre have advised me that if I can't see the cording they'll pass them - which is nice, but I still dread them delaminating and stripping their tread, or just falling apart.
They'll all tubed of course - but it still worries me! We're planning to take a little trip to France/Spain/Portugal (at least) starting after Christmas - and I guess 20" tyres aren't that common on the continent.
Now it seems that cheaptyres4u.com can do me 9x20 tyres for £130 each - which becomes expensive when you need 7 at once...
So anyone got some tyres at the back of the garage? or ideas for a cheaper source? I'm happy to have good 2nd hand tyres that have some life left. I'm in west Cornwall incidentally.
I've thought of changing the whole wheel - but mine are 8-stud and all the 22.5 wheels I've seen are 10-stud (see my post under wheels).
Thanks for any help

Hi all Hate to reply to my own message... but I've just got a set of 6 excellent wheels and tyres from a local specialist commercial breakers for £10 each!! they came off an old fire engine apparently. So my search for tyres / different wheels is over. ;D Incidentally - I was quoted as low as £65+vat per tyre (new or as new) from an ex-MOD specialist for anyone in a similar position. Cheers Adam
