Leyland National and National 2 from the mid 1970's rear under floor engined single decker service bus. Designed to be integrally built by Leyland, ie chassis and body built together in the same factory. This bus was cutting edge and remains popular in service to date. Leyland or Gardner engined, some retro fitted with volve B10M engines. Automatic or Semi auto gears, power steering. Air suspension. Single or dual doors. The rear exit door normally positioned in front of the rear axle. I have witnessed and experienced great problems with the operation of the exit doors on these buses as a passenger and as a driver. Integral body work had caused problems for maintenance, component being burried inside the body with no access panels. Require cutting through panels! Roof pod common on this model contains aircon unit. Easy to drive, gear change can be clunky. BEWARE the rear over hang for the sting in the tail! Some of these buses have been re bodied by Greenway.
