Whats the difference between a bus and a coach? Speed! A coach is designed to travel at motorway speed, they normally have high back recliner seats and are normally required to have seat belts fitted. They also generally have underfloor luggage compartments and toilets. Most coaches are manual transmission although a growing number are now automatic due to lack of drivers. [bus companies train their drivers in automatic buses so they can't jump ship and drive for the local coach company ] There are various popular coach chassis available in the Uk and a number of body builders.
