The Road tax for a "bus" can be as much as £500 per year depending on seating capacity. A vehicle with less than 16 seats is charged at £165 per year. A vehicle over 3.5t can also be classed as a private HGV which again is charged at £165 per year. To change the road tax class for your vehicle it is best to go to your local DVLA office to have the Tax class changed. It will then remain on the V11 {vehicle licence application / SORN declaration form } when you renew your road tax. I would recommend removing the seats and ammending the V5 as soon as possible, if you present a V5 with less than 16 seats you should not have a problem getting the road tax class changed. If in doubt contact the DVLA www.dvla.gov.uk/vehicles/taxation.htm#Private%20HGV
