Hello I have recently purchased a Plaxton Paramount Semi Auto Leyland Tiger I thinks its about 1984 ish I pick it up and finalise in next 2 weeks. I have a full manual coach licence but on log book it is a motor caravan HGV class 2. Is it OK to drive on my PCV licence or can I get it reclassified as a coach. Also it is converted already what would it weigh could I get it reclassified to run under 7.5 tonne rules on my car license (bearing in mind that I have passed my PCV test and have some experience on local buses). Any help would be appreciated thanks.

As far as the DVLA are concerned you need a HGV 2 licence to drive it, (depending on weight), I would be surprised if it is under 7.5 tonnes. You would need to get it weighed and replated. But do remember that if you replate it you then restrict the MAM and could be prosecuted for overloading if you exceeded the new MAM weight in the future for what ever reason.
