Hi, I've had this bus conversion project in my head for over a year now and as it seems to not go away I thought I'd better start acting on it.
Basically it involves converting an old (50/60s) single decker bus into a 'static' accommodation, to be put on somewhere on a field/ campsite with access to toilet & hot water.
So in my (simple) mind what I'm looking it is 1) find an old bus (shell) as seen on forums and ebay (£1000 max) 2) find someone (garage?) to take the seats out, insulate it, put some nice recyled wood as floorboards and ceiling, maybe fit a door 3) fit a basic kitchen (just sink & water urn), wood burner, sofa, basic sleeping arrangements (e.g. bunks)
So no engine, water tank, electrics etc.
Some of the basic things I need help with are 1) cost wise I have no idea, especially for question 2 above, but is £5000 way too low for the whole thing? 2) work wise, can someone recommend a garage/ converter who could do this, ideally up North ( I live in Leeds) 3) Anything I should be aware of, i.e. state of the bus, even if it is going to be off-road...
Many Thanks! Andreas
