I'm coming 'round to the idea of converting a double deck bus to live in and take around Europe, but I've just paid a visit to my cities bus company (Plymouth Citybus) and had a look around the workshops at the scale of the engineering involved.
I'm an engineer and I wouldn't fancy getting stuck in the middle of nowhere with a knackered engine or transmission, I've seen smaller, simpler aero engines!
How do you travelling bus converters get around the challenges of field repairs in deserted locations?
Also, am I being vetted for membership to this website?! I registered about a week ago.
Thanks
Graham

Hi Graham,
No vetting process here, I'm not sure what the problem is? Did you register as grahamwebb at Aug 21, 2005, 9:20pm?
If so you need to sign in with your username and password.

Yes that's me, when I sign in I get this message..
"Account Pending Approval Currently your account is waiting for approval from a staff member. Once an administrator has approved your account you will get access to this forum."
I've got loads of questions about converting a bus, so your probably safer keeping me out!

Hi Graham, My apologies, the site is hosted by proboards and they did a system up grade a few weeks ago, looks like they introduced this new system where I have to approve members? Well you've been approved now Jonathan

Are you planning on using it as a commercial catering unit? You may find you fall foul of HGV regulations. This company does conversions www.bus.uk.com/index.htm
