Unfortunaly, not a real one, but of these instead. A corgi 1/50th scale model. i picked it up for a tenner and it's already apart and the body stripped down for converting and repainting. If only doing the real thing was as cheap and as easy...lol

My dad keeps buying me models for my birthdays, I've got models of most of the buses I've driven and one of dragon bus. They are great fun.

I drove a Bedford VAL for a while. A comfortable, reliable vehicle, as long as you didn`t want to stop. When I complained to the guvnor about the brakes being weak, he got the mechanic to show me the linings. With those small wheels and narrow linings, it probably had less braking power the my car. Then I knew why our VAL`s were fitted with retarders, or in my case, as it was an older one, a mechanical transmission brake. Two handbrake levers in the drivers area. Unique.
