Hi All I found this site whilst looking for carpets for my ex-ambulance conversion (the type the motorcaravan people stick on walls- any ideas who sells these? ) I have just found a helpful firm to sell me two leather hides to cover the cab interior and then I found this site. The idea of doing a coach next appeals, but with regard to the law do I have to pass a PSV test or is it just a heavy goods license if I ditch the majority of the seats? I also wanted to ask if you get an older bus or coach what do you do for breakdown cover as I already found the RAC and the AA do not cover vehicles over a certain height and length. Ok with green flag but what about something like a coach? Finally are there coach and bus breakers that would sell cheaper spare parts? Thanks Adds

Hello welcome.
Not sure about carpet? Try asking a coach builder or coach company they may be able to point you in the direction of a supplier.
You need a LGV licence, a PCV licence is not valid for a conversion. It depends on the weight of the vehicle and when you passed your driving test also. Some people can drive vehicles upto 7.5 tonne.
Recovery requires a heavy recovery firm the people you see towing broken down artic's. They don't do break down insurance like cars, you just phone them up directly.
Unfortunaltely it is an expensive game playing with real buses.
And yes bus and coach breakers can supply parts.
